Web Software Development is one of the most active areas in software development in Europe. Most companies are developing web applications using Java Enterprise Edition. Since web development is not yet a mature area the proliferation of frameworks and components has both increased the required skills of web engineers, and has affected considerably the productivity.
This project has the goal of contributing to the promotion of a new open paradigm for development web systems with Java technology, and is based on the expertise gained in the ROMA project. The project will research on domain driven design for Web Applications on Java and will provide an open source Java framework for developing web applications. Furthermore, the framework will provide unprecedented ability to mashing remote pieces of web applications, not only at user interface level (Web 2.0 style mashup) but at data level, thanks to the use of the W3C Semantic Web languages as backend data integration layer.
